Root Exudation of Specialized Molecules for Plant-Environment Interaction

چکیده

It has been estimated that between 40 and 60 % of the assimilated carbon is diverted to roots released in rhizosphere form root exudates. Root exudates thus define a complex mixture low high molecular weight compounds, including carbohydrates, amino acids, organic, proteins, but also broad spectrum specialized molecules, such as flavonoids, glucosinolates, terpenoids, or alkaloids. favour soil mineral nutrition, can bind aggregate turn modify physico-chemical properties, mediate plant-plant, plant-microbe, plant-animal interactions belowground. With this review, we aim highlight how chemical ecologists have approached study exudates-mediated plants their biotic abiotic surroundings. We do so by presenting series cases for, on one hand, showcasing different methodologies developed test activity exudates, and, other show array mediated Ultimately, spur further research collaborations chemists studying belowground chemically-mediated interactions, tackle essential challenges terms food security climate change near future.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa-plant root interactions. Pathogenicity, biofilm formation, and root exudation.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic human pathogen capable of forming a biofilm under physiological conditions that contributes to its persistence despite long-term treatment with antibiotics. Here, we report that pathogenic P. aeruginosa strains PAO1 and PA14 are capable of infecting the roots of Arabidopsis and sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum), in vitro and in the soil, and are capable o...

Update on Root Exudation and Rhizosphere Biology Root Exudation and Rhizosphere Biology

Our understanding of the biology, biochemistry, and genetic development of roots has considerably improved during the last decade (Smith and Fedoroff, 1995; Flores et al., 1999; Benfey and Scheres, 2000). In contrast, the processes mediated by roots in the rhizosphere such as the secretion of root border cells and root exudates are not yet well understood (Hawes et al., 2000). In addition to th...

Potential Enhancement of Plant Iron Assimilation by Microbial-Induced Root Exudation of Phenolic Compounds

Iron (Fe) deficiency in crop plants is a modern agricultural problem worldwide. Although multiple strategies have been evolved to improve Fe assimilation, some plant species, especially dicots and nongraminaceous monocots (strategy I plants), cannot avoid Fe deficiency in low Fe-availability soils. It is well documented that graminaceous plants (strategy II plants) employ the chelationbased Fe ...

Exploring the transfer of recent plant photosynthates to soil microbes: mycorrhizal pathway vs direct root exudation

Plants rapidly release photoassimilated carbon (C) to the soil via direct root exudation and associated mycorrhizal fungi, with both pathways promoting plant nutrient availability. This study aimed to explore these pathways from the root's vascular bundle to soil microbial communities. Using nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry (NanoSIMS) imaging and (13) C-phospho- and neutral lipid fatty...
